Provation Apex Endoscopy Reporting System Now Live at All JH Community Hospitals

The Provation Apex endoscopy reporting system enhances GI and pulmonary clinical documentation across the enterprise.  This new centralized platform replaces two legacy systems, streamlining documentation processes and harmonizing databases. Providers can capture images and videos of endoscopy procedures and efficiently document reports that seamlessly integrate with Epic.

Key benefits of the Apex system include:

• Standardized templates: Providers can create customized templates built on JHM-standard documentation, ensuring consistency across all sites.
• Predictive note-writing: Apex uses tailored, clinician-specific suggestions to accelerate documentation and save time.
• Offline procedure storage: Images and videos can be recorded locally, even without network connectivity, and integrate with the database once internet access is restored.
• Reduced errors: The new system reports a 90% decrease in interface errors compared with the previous system, alleviating administrative burdens.

The Health IT team worked closely with local IT and operational leadership at all six Johns Hopkins community hospitals and four ambulatory surgery centers to implement this system.
