The IT Policy Committee recently met for the first time. This new committee will oversee the development, review, and maintenance of IT policies that govern Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Health System. The committee ensures policies are clear, relevant, and aligned with institutional objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. IT standards and guidelines may also be updated as part of the IT Policy Committee, generally through ad hoc subgroups. The IT Policy Committee is actively working with the Institutional Computing Standards Committee (ICSC) to determine how best to integrate the ICSC into the policy subgroups. The committee will start by creating a consolidated inventory of all IT policies, standards, and guidelines, and drafting a strategy for IT policy communications and branding. Changes will be communicated via newsletters, email, and All Hands meetings over the next few months.
