Pediatric Urgent Care at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Opens with Health IT Support

Health IT partnered with leaders at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) to launch a Pediatric Urgent Care Center at the Tampa Outpatient Care Center. JHACH saw this new center as an opportunity to address a clinical gap in the regional healthcare landscape. The recently-opened center is intended to enhance access to care closer to home, engage patient populations in emerging markets, and support long-term strategic growth for JHACH. Health IT’s help was integral in the opening of this new center.

As the first Pediatric Urgent Care Center in the Johns Hopkins Health System, the team created a new Epic build on an ambulatory medicine base. Susan Byrd, Executive Director of Ambulatory Services at JHACH, remarked “Paul Gorelick, Julie Riddler, and many others on the Health IT team have been fantastic to work with. They are able to tweak the Epic system where needed and their flexibility and innovation is very much appreciated.”
