The Hopkins AI Lab offers members of Johns Hopkins community secure and easy access to Large Language Models (LLMs) from industry leaders including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta. Developed by IT@JH, this secure environment mitigates security and privacy risks while ensuring that data remains protected. The objective is to make artificial intelligence accessible to the entire organization in support of the university’s mission of knowledge for the world.
The Hopkins AI Lab is a generative AI platform that provides secure, JHED-authenticated access to multiple large language models (LLMs), including those available through ChatGPT, Anthropic, and Meta.
The Hopkins AI Lab is approved for sensitive data, including PHI and PII. In accordance with Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine policies, you must act in a manner consistent with appropriate use of PHI / PII and be a responsible steward of the data you enter into and collect from the Hopkins AI Lab.
The Hopkins AI Lab is currently available by invitation only and will be available to all members of JHU and JHM, free of charge, in summer 2025.
