Janet drives positive change, fosters a culture of excellence, and is recognized as an opportunity-maker who continuously sets a bold direction. She joins Johns Hopkins from Citigroup, where she led cyber intelligence across multiple global teams performing cyber technical and strategic analysis to drive defensive controls and diminish emerging threats. Prior to her tenure at Citigroup, Rathod served as a senior director for cyber operations and intelligence at Capital One Financial Corporation, where she created and led new cybersecurity functions with firm-wide scope and impact. Rathod’s career also includes 16 years in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where she gained expertise in cybersecurity, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism. She served as a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) with oversight over the intelligence program for 56 Field Offices and four operational divisions. Janet was born and raised in small-town Nebraska, and enjoys visiting family and friends in Nebraska. In her free time, she loves to travel internationally with her husband, Ken.
